Samsung Galaxy S6 Teardown

Samsung Galaxy S6 probably one of nice looking smartphone this year. But with the new direction of Samsung to make their S6 and S6 Edge to have non-removable battery, no external SD support, very not-repairable, I would stay away from this phone and go for XiaoMi (for the price!)

Here is the teardowm of Samsung Galaxy S6 from iFixIt. S6 is 1 point easier to repair compare to S6 Edge, but it still still low at 4 out of 10.

From super easy to repair to super hard to repair, Samsung has done a 'good' job recently on Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. No SD card slot, no user replaceable battery, no USB3 port, 'nice' work Samsung!

Kindle Voyage Teardown

Kindle Voyage is Amazon's latest kindle. Let's see what is inside of this Kindle Voyage. One thing to note is the teardown pictures are correct if you see the screen still have something on it even after teardown. It is because e-paper retain it's pattern until the next electrical write. So even you took apart of the kindle, the picture or pattern just going to stay there for a very long time, even without any connection.

iPad Air 2 Teardown

This year Apple is calling the latest iPad Air 2. Thank you for not calling it the "new" ipad anymore. At least I am not confused again. And iFixIt quickly get their hand on the iPad Air 2 and tear it apart. Okay, not really tear it apart like hulk does, but teardown. This iPad Air 2 got 2/10 score from iFixIt, meaning it is pointless to repair it, just go buy another new one next year, okay?
